Addictions Counselor Assistant (Dick Van Dyke Addiction Treatment Center)
The Addictions Counselor Assistant serves as a member of the facility's multidisciplinary treatment team and works under the supervision of a qualified health professional (QHP). Specific duties include:
o Supervising clients and insuring building safety and security; o Counseling and crisis intervention education; o Conducting and leading in fire and emergency drills; o Clinical record audits preparing documentation/filing; o Conduct hourly checks and document observations; o Preparing supplies for new admissions (bedding, etc) o Transport patients in state issued van as needed; o Assist in search procedures as needed (patients returning to the ATC overnight from pass/hospital, etc) o Incumbent will be required to work overtime shifts periodically as needed; o May be assigned other tasks to meet facility needs.

From $41130 to $50405 Annually
Minimum Qualification
An Associate's degree with a specialization in Alcoholism, Substance Abuse or Chemical Dependency OR one year of full time employment in a field requiring the application of communication skills and one year of experience in a direct treatment capacity working in an addictions treatment setting. Substitutions:
30 college credits in a human services field may be substituted for the one year of communication experience; 10 college credits in specific alcoholism, substance abuse or chemical dependency courses may be substituted for the one year of specialized experience; 150 clock hours of relevant addictions for CASAC credential eligibility may be substituted for the one year of specialized experience.
